<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Bedside screening of self-pay patients for eligibility across federal, state, county, and non-governmental financial assistance programs</li> <li>Identification and routing of all potential payor sources including auto insurance, Workers' Compensation, commercial insurance, private insurance, and third-party liability (TPL)</li> <li>Completion and management of Confidential Financial Statement forms; direct assistance to patients throughout the benefits application process</li> <li>Conducts one-on-one interviews with patients and family members to gather financial and coverage information</li> <li>Performs financial clearance functions including collections activity; prepares accounts for Financial Assistance review and cancels uncooperative, ineligible accounts per protocol</li> <li>Follows up on EES-assigned accounts to confirm government program applications are progressing; builds ongoing working relationships with patients to accelerate eligibility determinations</li> <li>Conducts field visits to patient homes for skip tracing and document assistance</li> <li>Communicates case screening determinations and outcomes — both verbally and in writing — to hospital case management, social services, and admissions staff</li> <li>Maintains complete, accurate documentation of all account activity throughout the in-house stay and the full Patient Accounting cycle</li> <li>Work environment spans both hospital and office settings, with direct patient and staff contact across a broad campus including the Emergency Department</li> <li>Some travel required, including field visits to patient residences</li> </ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li> <li>Minimum 2 years of work experience in social services, hospital admitting, or a directly related field</li> <li>Working familiarity with federal, state, and county program rules and regulations governing patient financial assistance</li> <li>Proficiency in PC systems including Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word</li> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to conduct patient interviews and document outcomes clearly</li> <li>Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts, facilities, supervisors, and hospital platforms simultaneously</li> <li>Ability to work independently and prioritize a high-volume task load efficiently</li> <li>Bilingual in Spanish preferred</li> <li>Must be able to navigate a full hospital campus environment, including the Emergency Department, and visit patients at bedside; travel to patient homes required</li> <li>Candidates must be able to provide confirmation of all required vaccinations and screenings prior to start of employment, including COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations as applicable</li> </ul>
