Practice Highlights

  • Supervisory scope spans multiple Patient Access areas: Admitting, Centralized Scheduling, Emergency Department registration, and on-site and off-site clinic locations
  • Direct reports include Patient Access Representatives at levels I through IV
  • Responsible for daily mentoring, onboarding, and ongoing training of both new hires and existing Patient Access staff
  • Manages escalated patient access and registration issues, serving as the operational point of escalation for the team
  • Monitors daily activity and produces performance and metric reports, including financial clearance reports; executes special projects and reporting as assigned
  • Participates in short- and long-range planning recommendations across all Registration Process areas
  • Enforces departmental policies, procedures, and work rules; assists in developing and implementing new policies aligned with hospital and corporate guidelines
  • Functions as an active member of the management team, accountable for meeting all operational goals
  • Performs all Patient Access functions hands-on as operational needs require
  • Must be available for variable hours and days based on departmental and system demands, including on-call availability as needed

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2- or 4-year college degree in Business, Accounting, Medical Administration, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or closely related healthcare environment
  • 5 or more years of Patient Access experience preferred
  • 2 or more years in a supervisory or lead role preferred
  • Thorough working knowledge of Healthcare Information Systems and computer systems used in clinical/administrative settings
  • Clear understanding of Revenue Cycle Management principles and applicable Regulatory Agency requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills
