Practice Highlights
- Full-time day-shift schedule — consistent, predictable hours with no stated night or weekend rotation requirement
- Single or multi-department management scope within Surgical Services / Operating Room
- Direct supervisory authority over designated OR unit staff, including hiring, orientation, scheduling, performance evaluation, and coaching
- Budget accountability: participates in annual budget development, monitors personnel and supply expenditures, and manages variance correction
- Payroll and timekeeping oversight via Kronos system
- Responsible for maintaining continuous survey readiness and leading the survey readiness team
- Coordinates and verifies completion of new-hire orientation competency checklists and annual competency reviews for all staff
- Participates in hospital committees and conducts departmental staff meetings as needed
- Interfaces regularly with physicians, employees, patients, and community stakeholders
- Manages unusual occurrence reporting (patient falls, medication errors, etc.) and implements corrective measures
- Part of the Abrazo Health Network, affiliated with a national system operating 65 hospitals and approximately 510 outpatient centers
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Arizona (required)
- Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — minimum requirement; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum three years of relevant clinical nursing experience (required)
- Minimum two years of management or supervisory experience (preferred)
- CPR certification required; ACLS as applicable by department
- CNOR or CAPA/CPAN certification preferred for Surgical Services placement
- Strong independent decision-making ability, high degree of accuracy, and proficiency with personal computer systems required
