Practice Highlights

  • CT Technologist performs diagnostic computed tomography procedures across all patient age groups, newborn through elderly
  • Operates CT scanner using advanced computed tomography techniques; produces and evaluates images for technical quality with proper identification and procedure documentation
  • Scope includes fluoroscopy assistance, 3D imaging concepts, digital imaging processing, and advanced CT practice consistent with ARRT registration
  • Responsibilities include venipuncture, contrast media preparation and administration (per licensed practitioner order and state statute), and aseptic technique
  • Quality control duties for assigned equipment areas, including reporting of equipment malfunctions

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Imaging Technology required
  • 0–1 year of experience with demonstrated competency in computed tomography components; new graduates with CT training eligible
  • Active ARRT registration in Radiology and CT required; candidates who have not yet obtained CT Registry must do so within one year of graduation from an accredited program
  • Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license, or approved training documentation, accepted in lieu of CT Registry where applicable
  • BLS certification required — must be obtained through an American Heart Association–approved Training Center or the Military Training Network
