- Responsible for specimen receipt, registration, billing, and distribution according to established protocols ensuring specimen integrity
- Performs CLIA-waived laboratory tests as requested
- Assists with microbiology specimen processing and plating as requested
- Operates basic laboratory equipment, computers, and medical software including accurate data entry into lab information systems
- Handles pre-analytical variables affecting specimen quality; applies correct laboratory medical terminology and measurements

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a laboratory or medical-related field from an accredited institution preferred
- Minimum one year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
- Phlebotomy certification required where mandated by Arizona state law; national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT, or equivalent preferred
- Basic laboratory computer and lab information system (LIS) experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently in a high-volume setting
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; service-oriented approach with patients and clinical colleagues
