<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Primary shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts); must be available for evening and night shifts as departmental needs require</li> <li>Stationed in the Emergency Department with cross-functional capability required in at least two Patient Access service areas</li> <li>Performs full patient registration at point of service, including demographic capture, insurance verification, benefits and eligibility checks, and authorization for both scheduled and unscheduled services</li> <li>Secures and explains all required legal and compliance forms: Advance Directives, Conditions of Service, Consent for Treatment, Important Message from Medicare, and EMTALA documentation</li> <li>Conducts medical necessity checks and verifications in accordance with CMS requirements; secures inpatient visit notifications to payors</li> <li>Performs patient liability collection before, during, and after date of service using compliant negotiation techniques; manages hospital cash reconciliation and secured payment entry</li> <li>Scans and manages Protected Health Information; creates and files patient information packets for upcoming services</li> <li>Assists with scheduling diagnostic procedures and coordinating post-discharge care as needed</li> <li>Works within a fast-paced ED environment with potential exposure to high patient volumes and acute, life-threatening patient conditions</li> <li>Interprets physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance cards in accordance with established standards of care</li> </ul>
