Practice Highlights
- Dialysis Department embedded within a major regional medical center and recognized destination hospital for cardiovascular and vascular care
- Perform hemodialysis treatments — including full equipment setup and dismantling — in both the dedicated dialysis department and critical care areas
- Monitor patients throughout treatment initiation, active treatment, and termination phases under RN supervision
- Conduct routine water sample collection and submit for water content and microorganism analysis; maintain water treatment logs and report discrepancies
- Responsible for equipment maintenance, supply management, and timely reporting of malfunctions to the department manager
- Accurate, timely data collection, identification, and documentation as a core daily function
- Level 2 (Proficient) responsibilities include training new staff and performing troubleshooting and quality assurance checks
- Level 3 (Subject Matter Expert) responsibilities include participation in departmental quality improvement initiatives and contributing to procedure review and updates in collaboration with the Manager/Director
- Collaborative care model: direct patient care performed under the general supervision of nursing staff
- Facility services include emergency care, advanced stroke care, minimally invasive cardiac and vascular surgery, wound care, and bariatric surgery — supporting a broad and complex inpatient population
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) credential required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required
- Six months to one year of dialysis experience preferred
- Ability to perform independently within established standards with minimal supervision
