Practice Highlights
- 200-bed acute care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center, orthopedics, obstetrics, and cardiovascular service lines
- Advanced surgical platform including the da Vinci Xi robotic system and Loop-X intraoperative imaging system
- Full clinical pharmacy scope: order verification, medication profile review, drug interaction screening, allergy review, dosing appropriateness, and renal dose adjustment
- High-risk IV checking, IV-to-PO conversions, and black box warning interventions performed routinely
- Collaborative practice management under facility-approved protocols covering anticoagulation, parenteral nutrition, vancomycin, and aminoglycoside dosing consults
- Active role in medication reconciliation, therapy initiation/modification/discontinuation, and adverse drug reaction reporting
- Participation in drug utilization review, quality improvement initiatives, and nursing unit inspections
- Teaching and mentorship responsibilities with physicians, nurses, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students
- On-call coverage as assigned per department policy
- Supervision of pharmacy technicians in preparation, dispensing, and inventory management functions
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (Pharm.D. or equivalent)
- Current Pharmacist license in the State of Arizona, or eligibility to obtain
- One year of acute care hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates will be considered
- Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS, CGP, or equivalent) preferred but not required
- Proficiency with basic computer systems; comfort working across all areas of pharmacy services as assigned
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
