Practice Highlights
- Assigned to the Orthopedics unit, directly supporting the Carondelet Joint Replacement Center — a dedicated orthopedic program within a major acute care hospital
- Works within a Relationship-Based Care model, with an emphasis on intentional, patient-centered interactions and structured patient rounding per unit-specific guidelines
- Orthopedic-specific technical duties include application and removal of Buck's traction (following initial RN/PT placement), anti-embolism stockings, and sequential compression devices
- Full ADL support responsibilities: hygiene, mobility assistance, feeding, oral and denture care, and bathing
- Clinical monitoring tasks: vital signs, intake and output measurement, pulse oximetry, and weight measurement using standing, sling, bed, or chair scales
- Skin integrity surveillance and repositioning protocols per the SKIN bundle, with timely escalation of changes in patient condition to supervising RN or LPN
- Works in a secure department with controlled access to medication storage areas
- Broader campus services include a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Carondelet Neurological Institute, cardiology, emergency medicine, and labor and delivery — a high-acuity environment with strong interdisciplinary support

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of a PCT training program, CNA training program, or equivalent required
- Current CPR certification required
- Current CNA licensure preferred
- Prior hospital or healthcare experience preferred; familiarity with the inpatient hospital environment is a plus
