Practice Highlights
- Full-time, day-shift schedule in the Operating Room
- Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care
- Oversight and supervision of staff to whom appropriate care is delegated
- Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control protocols
- Accountable to the CNO for high-quality, safe nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource management
- Medication administration responsibilities per hospital policy, with emphasis on safety and timeliness
- Active participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
- Part of a five-hospital regional system, including a dedicated children's hospital, serving the greater El Paso community since 1902
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current, active Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or PALS and/or NRP required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
- Recent acute care experience preferred; Operating Room background strongly relevant to this role
