- Manager accountable for staffing and scheduling, department-specific education, onboarding and orientation, performance evaluations, and policy development
- Ongoing analysis of ED metrics including length of stay, avoidable days, throughput and patient flow, and core measures
- Serves as the operational and clinical liaison between the ED, inpatient departments, physicians, and ancillary services
- Reports to the Administrative Nursing Director; participates in nursing and organizational policy formulation at the executive level
- Participates in budget planning and monitoring for defined areas
- Supports evaluative research activities and fosters peer review culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field required; Master's Degree in Nursing, Education, Management, or a related field strongly preferred
- Minimum two years of clinical experience in an emergency or related specialty; minimum one year of supervisory or management experience
- Working knowledge of Quality Improvement processes and Joint Commission standards required
- Active Florida RN license required
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required at time of hire
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) required within 18 months of hire
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credential preferred and strongly encouraged
