Practice Highlights
- Full-time days schedule within a high-volume, multi-hospital health system
- Performs complex diagnostic MRI procedures as ordered by licensed physicians across a broad patient population
- Produces high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining excellent patient care standards, including management of delicate clinical situations (fetal demise, oncologic pathology)
- Archives studies to PACS/DICOM system and transmits to radiologist reading stations for subspecialty review
- Demonstrates working knowledge of MRI system hardware, computer interfaces, camera, and all related MR system components
- Accommodates scheduled, emergency, and add-on patients; manages appointment flow and communicates schedule changes to appropriate personnel
- Verifies referral appropriateness for each study; consults referring physician when clinical indication requires clarification
- Maintains strict MRI suite safety protocols related to strong magnetic field environments
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities and complies with all safety and quality standards
- System footprint includes six full-service hospitals, a children's hospital, a comprehensive cancer care network, fitness and rehabilitation centers, imaging centers, and the Baptist School of Health Professions
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited MRI program required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Allied Health or certification in another clinical imaging field preferred
- Minimum 6 months of supervised clinical MRI experience with working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MR pathology required; 2–5 years of MRI experience preferred
- ARRT (Radiology) or ARMRIT registry eligibility per ACR guidelines required; must achieve MR Technologist registration within one year of graduation from an accredited program
- ARRT certification specifically in MRI preferred
- If registered with ARRT in ionizing radiation, active Texas Medical Board (TMB) license required
- Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
