<p>Mission Trail Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Technician II (Housekeeping) to support the cleanliness and infection-control standards of a full-service acute care hospital within a health system with more than 120 years of community care history. This role covers high-acuity clinical areas — including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, GI Lab, Wound Care, and procedure rooms — and is a direct contributor to patient safety and outcomes. <h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Assigned coverage spans high-priority clinical zones: Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, GI Lab, Wound Care, and procedure areas, as well as restrooms, waiting areas, and public hallways</li> <li>Performs terminal cleaning of isolation rooms and exam rooms in accordance with infection-control protocols</li> <li>Routine duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and surface cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, mirrors, showers, commodes, windows, and other glass surfaces</li> <li>Responsible for trash and linen removal using hospital compactor and cardboard baler; distributes clean linen throughout the facility</li> <li>Moves furniture and heavy equipment as directed by department leadership</li> <li>Completes all position-specific competencies within the designated introductory period</li> <li>Part of a health system that includes six full-service hospitals, a specialized children's hospital with a dedicated pediatric emergency unit, a comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, ambulatory services, fitness and rehabilitation centers, and the Baptist School of Health Professions</li> </ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2 years of cleaning experience in a hospitality or healthcare setting, including terminal cleaning experience</li> <li>Ability to read, write, and understand English is required</li> <li>High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of full-time environmental services work experience accepted in lieu of formal education (preferred)</li> </ul>
