Practice Highlights

  • Shift Supervisor role within the Emergency Department of Saint Luke's Hospital, part of the Baptist Health System
  • Responsibilities include clinical supervision, patient care coordination and assignment, and serving as unit patient flow coordinator across the shift
  • Facilitates admissions, discharges, and transfers to optimize throughput and patient experience
  • Coordinates next-shift staffing in collaboration with the Director, Clinical Manager, Coordinator, and/or House Officer
  • Functions as a clinical and leadership resource and role model for department staff

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or an advanced degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an equivalent unit required; 4 years preferred
  • Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required
  • National Specialty Certification preferred
  • Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required within 60 days of hire
  • ACLS, TNCC, PALS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., Fetal Monitoring, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention required depending on department assignment — see applicable Staff RN job description for requirements and grace periods
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) preferred for the Emergency Department
