<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Bedside screening of self-pay patients across hospital units, including Emergency Department environments and broad campus settings</li> <li>Identification and routing of all potential payor sources: auto insurance, Workers' Compensation, commercial insurance, private insurance, third-party liability (TPL), and governmental programs</li> <li>Completion of Confidential Financial Statement forms and direct assistance to patients applying for eligible benefit programs</li> <li>Conducts in-person patient and family interviews to gather financial and insurance information necessary for account processing</li> <li>Performs field visits to patient homes for skip tracing and document assistance</li> <li>Follows up on EES-assigned accounts to ensure government program applications are processed through to eligibility determination</li> <li>Executes financial clearance functions including collections; prepares accounts for Financial Assistance review when patient cooperation is not obtained</li> <li>Communicates case screening determinations and outcomes to hospital case management, social services, and admissions staff via verbal and written channels</li> <li>Maintains complete, detailed documentation of all account activity throughout the in-house and Patient Accounting cycle</li> <li>Works across multiple facilities and hospital platforms, coordinating with multiple supervisors and departments simultaneously</li> <li>Work environment spans both hospital floors and office settings with direct patient and staff contact; some travel required</li> </ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent required</li> <li>Minimum 2 years of work experience in Social Services, Hospital Admitting, or a closely related field</li> <li>Working familiarity with Federal, State, and County program rules and regulations governing patient financial assistance</li> <li>Proficiency in PC systems including Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word</li> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; Spanish bilingual proficiency strongly preferred</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and manage accounts across multiple facilities with efficiency and attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to walk through hospital environments, visit patients at bedside, and travel for field visits as required</li> <li>Must be able to obtain and provide confirmation of all required vaccinations and screenings prior to start of employment, including COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations</li> </ul>
