<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Bedside screening of self-pay patients across hospital units, including Emergency Department environments and broad campus settings</li> <li>Identification and routing of all potential payor sources: auto insurance, Workers' Compensation, commercial insurance, private insurance, third-party liability (TPL), and governmental programs</li> <li>Completion of Confidential Financial Statement forms and hands-on assistance guiding patients through benefit application processes</li> <li>Direct patient and family interviewing with full documentation maintained throughout the in-house stay and Patient Accounting cycle</li> <li>Financial clearance functions including collections activity and preparation of accounts for Financial Assistance review; cancellation of non-cooperative, non-eligible accounts per protocol</li> <li>Follow-up on EES-assigned accounts to confirm government program applications are processed through to eligibility determination</li> <li>Field visits to patient homes for skip tracing and document assistance — travel within the community is a regular component of the role</li> <li>Coordination with hospital case management, social services, and admissions staff via verbal and written communication on all screening determinations and outcomes</li> <li>Work environment spans both hospital floors and office settings with direct daily contact with patients and clinical/administrative staff</li> <li>Some travel required beyond local field visits</li> </ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li> <li>Minimum 2 years of work experience in social services, hospital admitting, or a directly related field</li> <li>Working familiarity with Federal, State, and County program rules and regulations governing patient financial assistance and eligibility</li> <li>Proficiency in PC systems including Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word</li> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills in English; bilingual Spanish strongly preferred given the patient population served in Coral Gables</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts, facilities, and supervisory relationships simultaneously with attention to detail and efficiency</li> <li>Ability to walk through hospital environments, visit patients at bedside, and travel locally for field visits; ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods</li> </ul>
