Practice Highlights
- Emergency Department RN role at an acute care hospital serving the Rio Grande Valley regional catchment
- Direct clinical care responsibilities across the full shift: patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and coordination within the prescribed medical regimen
- Responsible for safe and timely medication administration in accordance with hospital policy
- Accountable for supervising staff to whom care is appropriately delegated on a per-shift basis
- Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control — with a discharge goal of optimum patient outcomes
- Participates in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster activations
- Supports CNO-level goals for high-quality, safe nursing care and appropriate resource management

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current Texas RN licensure or eligibility to obtain; must meet all state law and regulatory requirements for practice
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required per corporate policy for this unit
- ENPC and/or PALS and/or NRP required as applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required
- Recent acute care experience preferred; emergency department experience a strong asset
