Practice Highlights

  • Emergency Department RN role at an acute care hospital serving the Rio Grande Valley regional catchment
  • Direct clinical care responsibilities across the full shift: patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and coordination within the prescribed medical regimen
  • Responsible for safe and timely medication administration in accordance with hospital policy
  • Accountable for supervising staff to whom care is appropriately delegated on a per-shift basis
  • Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control — with a discharge goal of optimum patient outcomes
  • Participates in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster activations
  • Supports CNO-level goals for high-quality, safe nursing care and appropriate resource management

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current Texas RN licensure or eligibility to obtain; must meet all state law and regulatory requirements for practice
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required per corporate policy for this unit
  • ENPC and/or PALS and/or NRP required as applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required
  • Recent acute care experience preferred; emergency department experience a strong asset
