Practice Highlights
- PCU assignment within a large multi-hospital system serving a broad San Antonio patient population
- Works under the direct supervision and direction of a registered nurse, providing basic nursing care to an assigned patient group
- General nursing units serve patients age 15 through adult; special care areas manage high-risk adult and adolescent conditions

Qualifications
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Preferred education: Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting program
- Preferred experience: 6 months in a healthcare setting and/or working knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures
- Required certification: Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) on date of hire (ARC or AHA accepted); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer into the position
