<p>Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas is recruiting a Nursing Assistant for its Recovery unit — a patient-facing support role embedded within a six-hospital health system with more than 120 years of community care history. Working under direct RN supervision, this position delivers hands-on basic nursing care across a broad patient population and serves as a foundational member of the clinical team. <h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Recovery unit role providing basic nursing care under direct RN direction and supervision</li> <li>Patient population spans age 15 through adult in general nursing and special care areas; surgical services covers neonate through geriatric</li> <li>System service lines include: General Nursing Units, Special Care Areas (high-acuity adult), Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Pediatrics, GI Lab, Chemical Dependency and Psychiatric Units, Emergency Unit, and Surgical Services</li> <li>Emergency Unit staffed for all ages with competency in pediatric and high-risk adult care</li> <li>Maternal Child services encompass Labor and Delivery, Newborn Nursery, and Pediatrics (neonate through age 18)</li> <li>GI Lab serves patients from age 24 months through adult</li> <li>Chemical Dependency and Psychiatric Unit delivers holistic, family-inclusive care for adult patients</li> <li>Part of a six-hospital system that also includes a specialized children's hospital with a dedicated pediatric emergency unit, a comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, fitness and rehabilitation centers, ambulatory services, and the Baptist School of Health Professions</li> <li>Position-specific competencies completed within a designated introductory period</li> </ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent required</li> <li>Preferred education: Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course</li> <li>Preferred experience: 6 months in a healthcare setting and/or working knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures</li> <li>Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire</li> <li>Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer into the position</li> </ul>
