Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas is recruiting a Nursing Assistant for its Recovery unit — a patient-facing support role embedded within a six-hospital health system with more than 120 years of community care history. Working under direct RN supervision, this position delivers hands-on basic nursing care across a broad patient population and serves as a foundational member of the clinical team. Practice Highlights

  • Recovery unit role providing basic nursing care under direct RN direction and supervision

  • Position-specific competencies completed within a designated introductory period

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Preferred education: Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course
  • Preferred experience: 6 months in a healthcare setting and/or working knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures
  • Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer into the position
