<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred</li> <li>0–1 year of customer service experience; 0–1 year of administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related field preferred</li> <li>Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute</li> <li>Demonstrated proficiency with PC, CRT terminal, and printer</li> <li>Working knowledge of third-party payor requirements and healthcare compliance standards preferred</li> <li>Ability to interpret physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance documentation</li> <li>Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced conditions including exposure to uncooperative patients and life-threatening patient situations</li> <li>Physical requirements include extended periods of sitting at a computer terminal, frequent standing and walking, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs., and occasional wheelchair assistance for patients</li> </ul>
