Practice Highlights
- Emergency Department assignment — provides care to presenting patients of all ages, including pediatric and high-risk adult populations
- Works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivering basic and intermediate nursing care to an assigned patient group

- Additional units on campus include General Nursing, Special Care (high-risk adult), GI Lab, Chemical Dependency, Psychiatric, Surgical Services (neonate through geriatric), and Maternal Child (L&D, Nursery, Pediatrics)
- Surgical Services unit covers patients from neonate to geriatric, reflecting the breadth of acuity staff encounter across the facility
- Competency-based onboarding with established competencies completed within a designated introductory period
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training required within 60 days of hire, supporting staff readiness in behavioral health and high-acuity situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of an accredited Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, or intermediate or higher-level Emergency Medical Technician program
- Preferred educational background: completed nurse aide course, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting program
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in an inpatient, Emergency Department, or Skilled Nursing Unit setting
- Current certification required in one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomist, or EKG Technician
- BLS certification required, obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or Military Training Network
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to position
