Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California is seeking a full-time Clinical Operations Representative (COR) to serve as a central hub for nursing personnel allocation, patient admissions coordination, and bed management across a Level 1 Trauma Center campus. This night-shift role — rotating 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM — sits at the intersection of staffing operations and patient flow, working directly within Cerner, PBAR, RightBed, and the hospital ADT system. Practice Highlights

  • Full-time, rotating night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Centrally located in the Nursing Office — serves as the operational command point for staffing and patient flow across the facility
  • Allocates nursing personnel in consultation with House Supervisors, applying unit-specific staffing guidelines and union contract requirements
  • Manages patient admissions and transfers using Cerner, PBAR, RightBed, FirstNet, and the hospital ADT system — working across multiple platforms concurrently
  • Assigns hospital service codes, accommodation codes, and bed assignments; performs daily census reconciliation to verify patient presence and code accuracy
  • Coordinates with EVS to expedite room turnover and patient placement; edits cleaning priorities directly in RightBed
  • Monitors overtime accumulation, tracks attendance, verifies payroll accuracy, and maintains schedule integrity for float pool and contract staff
  • Conducts compliance audits on float pool and contract staff files; maintains mandatory education tracking
  • Supports orientation scheduling for new hires and contract staff
  • Part of Desert Care Network — a three-hospital system that includes a Level 1 Trauma Center, comprehensive stroke program, cancer center, and the only Level 3 NICU in the Coachella Valley

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multiple computer systems concurrently; proficiency in Cerner, ADT systems, and Microsoft Office preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in a hospital setting with staffing, Cerner, or ADT exposure strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate professionally with patients, families, clinical staff, and mortuary personnel
  • Proven organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to complete complex scheduling tasks with minimal errors
  • Availability for both day and night shifts required; this role is currently scheduled on rotating nights
