  • Operates full hemodynamic monitoring equipment including cardiac output measurement, AVO₂, and blood gas analysis; records and maintains all patient values per department protocol
  • Performs patient positioning, prepping, and draping; sets up and scrubs for procedures maintaining strict aseptic technique
  • Within scope of practice: IV placement with normal saline, and insertion of radial or brachial arterial lines under physician supervision with or without intradermal Lidocaine injection
  • Continuous real-time communication with the physician regarding patient condition throughout each procedure
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities
  • Responsible for post-procedure room cleanup, instrument handling, supply restocking, and support area maintenance — a fully integrated team member, not a task-limited role

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in an acute care Cardiac Catheterization Lab or CVOR required
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year cardiovascular technology training program, surgical technology program, or equivalent on-the-job training including a minimum three-month orientation
  • ARRT certification required
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential preferred
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills in patient management and physician interaction
