Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a formal phlebotomy training program preferred
- Minimum one year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program required
- Basic laboratory computer or laboratory information system (LIS) experience preferred
- Phlebotomy certification required where mandated by Florida state law
- National phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT, or equivalent organization preferred
- Demonstrated competency in specimen acquisition, processing, and patient instruction to ensure specimen integrity
- Adherence to infection control procedures and departmental policies required
