Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a formal phlebotomy training program preferred
  • Minimum one year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program required
  • Basic laboratory computer or laboratory information system (LIS) experience preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification required where mandated by Florida state law
  • National phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT, or equivalent organization preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in specimen acquisition, processing, and patient instruction to ensure specimen integrity
  • Adherence to infection control procedures and departmental policies required
