John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, California is recruiting a full-time Radiologic Technologist to join its Imaging Services department within the Desert Care Network — a three-hospital system serving the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin regions of Southern California. This day-shift position offers up to $25,000 in sign-on bonus based on experience and places the technologist at the center of a high-acuity network that includes a Level 1 Trauma Center, comprehensive stroke care, a cancer center, and the only Level 3 NICU in the Coachella Valley.

Practice Highlights

  • Full-time day-shift position performing a broad range of radiologic procedures under the direction of the Medical Director and Administrative Director of Imaging Services
  • Performs specialized radiologic procedures per departmental protocols, including portable X-rays — all portable orders are expected to be completed and ready for shift
  • Assists the Radiologist with contrast administration; practices sterile technique for applicable procedures
  • Works across various areas of the imaging department and with multiple equipment platforms
  • Operates within the Cerner information system for order management and documentation
  • Completes and manages studies in the McKesson PACS system; expected to troubleshoot PACS issues independently during the shift
  • Participates in QA and QI studies, patient scheduling, and crash cart monitoring
  • Maintains and monitors equipment operation and calibration; exercises independent judgment in obtaining optimal diagnostic images with limited supervision
  • Part of Desert Care Network — a regional system encompassing Desert Regional Medical Center (Palm Springs), JFK Memorial Hospital (Indio), and Hi-Desert Medical Center (Joshua Tree)
  • Network-level advanced services include a Level 1 Trauma Center, comprehensive stroke program, oncology services, and the Coachella Valley's only Level 3 NICU

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) credential — California Radiologic Health Branch (RHB) certification required
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
  • Current California Fluoroscopy License required, or must be obtained within one year of hire
  • Experience in special procedures and CT imaging preferred
  • Cath Lab experience preferred
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn Cerner and McKesson PACS systems; independent PACS troubleshooting expected during shift
