Practice Highlights
- Full-time, permanent night-shift position on a dedicated Telemetry unit
- Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care plans
- Supervisory accountability for staff to whom care is appropriately delegated
- Coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process within a prescribed medical regimen
- Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control protocols
- Medication administration responsibilities per hospital policy with emphasis on safety and timeliness
- Participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergency and disaster situations
- Part of a five-hospital regional system — including a dedicated children's hospital — serving as the region's primary healthcare network since 1902
- Accountable to CNO-level leadership to ensure high-quality, safe nursing care and appropriate resource management
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Active Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure required
- Minimum one year of RN experience required for PRN status; recent acute care experience preferred
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or PALS and/or NRP required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
