About the Community
Tucson is Arizona's second-largest city, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Sonoran Desert and surrounded by five mountain ranges — a rare combination of urban amenities and world-class outdoor recreation including hiking, cycling, and stargazing in one of the darkest-sky regions in the country. The city offers a low cost of living relative to other major Southwest metros, a vibrant arts and food scene shaped by deep Southwestern and Mexican cultural heritage, and the University of Arizona's presence, which brings strong public schools, research energy, and a lively community calendar. Tucson's year-round sunshine and proximity to both Phoenix and the Mexican border make it an appealing base for clinicians who want lifestyle alongside career.
