Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program, equivalent training, or on-the-job training pathway accepted; minimum one year of clinical experience preferred (or recent program graduate considered)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST through NBSTSA or equivalent) preferred
  • Florida does not require state licensure for surgical technologists, but program graduation or equivalent credentialing is required per facility standards
