Practice Highlights
- Full-time day-shift position on a Medical-Surgical unit within an acute care hospital
- Direct clinical patient care role encompassing assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing care on a per-shift and unit level
- Responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process
- Supervision of staff to whom appropriate care is delegated, with accountability to the CNO for quality, safety, and resource management
- Medication administration in accordance with hospital policy, with emphasis on safety and timeliness
- Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
- Active participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
- Part of a five-hospital regional system including a dedicated children's hospital, providing access to broad subspecialty resources and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Institution with over 120 years of continuous service to the El Paso community and surrounding region
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current, active Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
- Recent acute care experience preferred
