Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required, or current eligibility for Texas state board certification
  • No prior experience required; completion of a peri-anesthesia or critical care internship or training course is preferred
  • Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer for all Surgical Services areas
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer for PACU staff caring for pediatric patients at designated facilities
  • Preferred specialty certifications: CNOR (Surgery), CPAN (Post Anesthesia), or SGNA board eligibility or certification (GI Lab)
