Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care Program required
- Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
- Current CRT or RRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required; renewal every five years (unless grandfathered prior to July 1, 2002)
- Active Healthcare Provider BLS certification (ARC or AHA) required on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
- AHA PALS required within 60 days of hire or transfer if covering pediatric patients
- AHA NRP required within 60 days of hire or transfer if covering NICU
- Prior hospital respiratory care experience preferred
