Qualifications
- Current certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required — OR eligibility under one of the following pathways:
- New graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (NBSTSA certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
- Completion of a U.S. military Surgical Technology training program (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or U.S. Public Health Service)
- Documented employment as a Surgical Technologist in a South Carolina healthcare facility prior to January 1, 2008
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required; must be obtained within 7 days of hire if not already held
- Minimum education: some college or vocational/technical training in Surgical Technology
- 1–2 years of surgical technology experience preferred; new graduates meeting certification requirements are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge base, safe instrument handling, and effective time management in a fast-paced surgical environment
