Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required at time of hire
  • No minimum experience required; two or more years in acute care strongly preferred
  • Adult ED certification requirements:
    • Active BLS (ARC or AHA) on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required within 60 days
    • AHA ACLS required within 60 days of hire or transfer (target: before end of orientation)
    • AHA PALS required within 60 days of hire or transfer, except at North Central Baptist Hospital Adult ED (target: before end of orientation)
    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire or transfer
    • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer
    • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) preferred
  • Pediatric ED certification requirements:
    • Active BLS (ARC or AHA) on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required within 60 days
    • AHA PALS required within 60 days of hire or transfer (target: before end of orientation)
    • TNCC required within 1 year of hire or transfer
    • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer
