The Hospitals of Providence – Memorial Campus in El Paso, Texas is recruiting a full-time Biomedical Equipment Technician IV (Biomed Tech IV) to join its clinical engineering team at a multi-hospital health system that has served the El Paso community since 1902. Practice Highlights

  • Day-shift, full-time schedule supporting a large multi-campus acute care health system with five hospitals, including a dedicated children's hospital
  • Responsible for maintenance, operation, testing, inspection, preventive maintenance (PM), and repair of medical electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Specialized scope includes patient beds, surgical tables, clinical furnishings, and transport devices — encompassing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic controls, and alarm systems
  • Performs both scheduled and corrective maintenance on complex clinical equipment including patient lifts and microprocessor-controlled devices
  • Operates patient safety equipment and interprets recorded data from those systems
  • Maintains historical maintenance documentation for all inspections and repairs
  • Processes all equipment repair work orders and PM checks; manages purchase orders and parts restocking
  • Responds to incoming telephone and electronic work request calls, coordinating repairs across the campus
  • Part of a regional health system with deep community roots dating to 1902 and a broad referral catchment across the El Paso metropolitan area

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Biomedical Electronics preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a biomedical electronics repair environment, OR 2 years of general maintenance experience with demonstrated hands-on work involving hospital beds, surgical tables, and equipment that includes microprocessor-controlled devices, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Certificate of training from a technical school in Biomedical Electronics preferred
  • Proficiency with a broad range of medical equipment modalities: electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and manage parts procurement and purchase orders
