<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred</li> <li>No prior experience required; two years of acute care experience in med/surg, telemetry, or ICU is preferred</li> <li>Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required at time of hire</li> <li>Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire (American Red Cross or AHA accepted); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire</li> <li>AHA ACLS required within 60 days of hire for nurses placed in Adult Critical Care, Telemetry, or Interim Critical Care units; should be completed before the end of the orientation period</li> <li>AHA PALS required within 60 days of hire for nurses placed in the Pediatric ICU; should be completed before the end of the orientation period</li> <li>AHA NRP required within 60 days of hire for nurses placed in the NICU</li> <li>S.T.A.B.L.E. certification required for NICU/Level 2 Nursery placement — proof of prior completion accepted, or must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer (renewal not required)</li> </ul>
