About the Community
Tucson is Arizona's second-largest city, situated in the Sonoran Desert at roughly 2,400 feet elevation — a setting that delivers more than 300 days of sunshine annually, dramatic mountain scenery, and year-round outdoor recreation including hiking, cycling, and climbing in Saguaro National Park and the Santa Catalina Mountains. The city offers a lower cost of living than Phoenix, a vibrant arts and food scene shaped by its proximity to the Mexican border, and the cultural energy of the University of Arizona. For clinicians relocating from out of state, Tucson combines genuine Southwest lifestyle with the professional infrastructure of a major regional medical hub.
