Practice Highlights
- Full-time, day-shift schedule
- On-call diagnostic services required as part of the role
- Duplex scanning of carotid arteries, upper and lower extremity veins, upper and lower extremity arteries, and abdominal aorta
- Aortic, hepatic, and portal flow system imaging
- PW and CW insonation of cerebral arteries via transcranial Doppler; peripheral artery insonation
- Responsibility for care and proper functioning of all vascular lab equipment
- Patient scheduling coordination to accommodate full lab volume
- Active role in training and performance review of vascular technology students
- Participation in Performance Improvement activities
- Cross-departmental communication with physicians, clinical staff, and ancillary departments
- Part of Baptist Health System — six full-service hospitals, a dedicated children's hospital with pediatric ED, comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, fitness and rehabilitation centers, and the Baptist School of Health Professions
Qualifications
- Active registration required at time of hire: Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT), Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS), or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- Minimum education: High School Diploma plus at least 2 years (24 credit hours) of career-oriented college coursework in a related discipline; each year of relevant experience may substitute for 12 credit hours
- Preferred education: Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of Vascular Technology
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in vascular studies with demonstrated knowledge of Doppler evaluation for arterial and venous circulation
- Active Healthcare Provider BLS certification (ARC or AHA) required on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Texas state licensure or eligibility to practice in Texas
