Practice Highlights

  • Recovery (PACU) unit within a full-service acute care campus — direct post-anesthesia patient care across surgical and procedural specialties
  • Day-shift, per diem (PRN) schedule offering flexibility while maintaining consistent unit integration
  • Responsible for comprehensive nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned patients each shift
  • Supervises and delegates care to appropriate support staff; accountable to CNO for quality, safety, and resource management
  • Medication administration per hospital policy with strict adherence to safety and risk management standards
  • Participates in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
  • Operates within established standards of safety, infection control, and quality improvement with goal of optimum patient discharge outcomes
  • Part of a five-hospital regional system — including a dedicated children's hospital — serving El Paso and the surrounding region since 1902

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required for PRN/per diem status
  • Recent acute care experience preferred; Recovery or PACU background a strong asset
  • Current Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain; must meet all state law and regulatory requirements for practice
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP required as applicable per unit-of-hire corporate policy
  • E-Verify work authorization compliance required
