Desert Regional anchors the Desert Care Network — a three-hospital system serving the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin — and operates one of the region's most comprehensive acute care campuses, including a Level 1 Trauma Center, a comprehensive stroke program, a cancer center, and the only Level 3 NICU in the Coachella Valley. This is a direct patient care support role working under the supervision of a registered nurse in a high-acuity telemetry environment, with a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500 based on experience.

Practice Highlights

- Night shift, full-time position with direct patient care responsibilities under RN supervision
- Responsibilities include vital signs, height and weight, intake and output documentation, ADL assistance, skin care, and hourly rounding
- Bedside handoff protocol observed at all shift transitions
- Patient orientation to room and unit; maintenance of patient communication whiteboards
- Monitoring of mental health patients as part of unit responsibilities
- Proficiency expected with braces and assistive equipment used in ADLs
- Active participation in quality improvement programs and orientation of new staff
- Computer-based documentation required; comfort with clinical information systems expected
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Active California Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification required upon hire and must be maintained continuously
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Non-violent crisis de-escalation training (CPI) required within 90 days of hire and maintained thereafter
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with staff, patients, and families in a dynamic acute care environment
- Previous experience in a telemetry or similar acute care setting preferred
