- Key leadership responsibilities include: nursing standards development, performance improvement program oversight, quality indicator monitoring, workforce planning, succession planning, nurse residency program implementation (Versant model referenced), and EMR adoption support
- Monitors Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Reports and Physician Satisfaction Survey results; develops and implements facility-level action plans in collaboration with department teams
- Participates in peer review and privileging processes for advanced practice nurses and allied health professionals
- Serves as Patient Ombudsman for outcome-of-care communications per regulatory standards
- Participates in HICS structure with knowledge of Emergency Code System, including Hurricane (Code White) response
- Acts as preceptor for affiliating graduate nursing students in clinical specialist programs; oversees all school affiliations and educational material procurement
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or a related field (Health Administration, Business, Public Health, or Management) required; academic degree in nursing required as a foundation
- Active, current Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas (or eligibility to obtain) required
- CENP (Certified Executive Nursing Practice) or NEA-BC (Nurse Executive Advanced — Board Certified) certification preferred
- Established record of progressive administrative and leadership responsibility in a comprehensive tertiary care facility
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance: TJC standards, state and federal regulations, ANA Standards for Nurse Administrators, and the Texas Nurse Practice Act
- Strong labor relations background; proven ability to organize patient care for optimal outcomes, patient safety, and satisfaction across patient, physician, and employee constituencies
- Financial acumen required — experience with budget development, labor expense management, and cost-improvement initiatives in nursing departments
- Strategic planning capability with experience implementing data-driven processes and programs
