Practice Highlights
- Provide psychiatric medication management to SNF residents
- Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations, follow-up medication checks, and behavioral consultations
- Manage depression, anxiety, psychotic disorders, dementia-related behaviors, BPSD, and substance-use disorders
- Collaborate with attending physicians, psychologists, nursing, social work, and pharmacy on integrated, interdisciplinary care
- Provide staff education on de-escalation techniques, behavior plans, and Beers Criteria prescribing
Qualifications
- MSN or DNP with PMHNP board certification (ANCC)
- Active APRN license with full prescriptive authority and DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Experience in geriatric psychiatry or long-term care strongly preferred
- Proficiency managing complex polypharmacy, dementia-related behaviors, and antipsychotic stewardship
