A leading national physician services organization is recruiting a Post-Acute Care Facility Medical Director for skilled nursing facility (SNF) sites serving the Laurinburg and Whiteville, NC region. This is a full-time, employed W-2 leadership role that combines a focused attending panel with meaningful administrative authority — including direct oversight of QAPI, infection prevention, antibiotic stewardship, and survey readiness under CMS F-Tag 841. Practice Highlights
- Designated Facility Medical Director per CMS F-Tag 841 for one or more SNF sites in the Laurinburg–Whiteville corridor
- Focused attending panel of typically 30–50 patients, rounded alongside medical director responsibilities
- Full-time schedule of 4 days per week, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to select one day off Tuesday through Thursday
- On-call coverage required, with the Medical Director serving as the on-call backup and escalation pathway for the facility
- Direct clinical leadership responsibilities: physician coverage assurance, APP mentorship and supervision, and oversight of rotating attendings
- Lead facility-level QAPI, infection prevention, antibiotic stewardship, and survey readiness programs
- Collaborative partnership with the Director of Nursing and Facility Administrator on day-to-day clinical operations
- Regulatory and compliance scope includes MDS, PDPM, and survey response processes
Qualifications
- Board certification (ABIM, ABFM, or ABIM Geriatric Medicine) required
- Residency training in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics
- Prior SNF or post-acute care experience strongly preferred
- Certified Medical Director (CMD) credential preferred; willingness to obtain is acceptable
- Working knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks: MDS, PDPM, and CMS survey response
- Active North Carolina medical license or eligibility to obtain; active DEA registration where applicable
