About the Community

Woonsocket sits in northern Rhode Island along the Blackstone River, roughly 15 miles north of Providence and within easy reach of Boston — making it a practical base for locum providers traveling from New England or the Northeast corridor. Rhode Island's compact geography means beaches, historic Newport, and Providence's nationally recognized restaurant and arts scene are all within a short drive. The state's relatively mild coastal climate, walkable communities, and access to major academic medical centers in Providence round out a lifestyle that appeals to clinicians who want urban amenities without a major-city cost of living.
