About the Community

Oklahoma City is one of the most affordable major metros in the United States, combining a low cost of living with a vibrant and rapidly growing urban core — home to a thriving arts district, professional sports (NBA's Thunder), diverse dining, and a strong public and private school landscape. The city sits at the crossroads of the Great Plains, offering easy access to outdoor recreation including Lake Hefner, the Wichita Mountains, and extensive trail systems, all within a short drive. Physicians relocating to OKC consistently cite the combination of big-city amenities, no state income tax burden relative to peer metros, and genuine community warmth as reasons they stay long-term.
