About the Community

Anacortes occupies the northwestern tip of Fidalgo Island in Skagit County, Washington — a gateway to the San Juan Islands and a short drive from both Bellingham and the greater Seattle metropolitan area. The area is defined by saltwater access, old-growth forests, and the Cascade foothills, with hiking, boating, kayaking, and cycling woven into everyday life. Cost of living remains lower than Seattle while quality of life is consistently high, making Anacortes a strong destination for clinicians who want serious outdoor access without sacrificing professional opportunity.
