<p>A high-autonomy Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant opportunity is open in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex at a flagship hospital anchored by a well-established adult cardiac program. The role spans the full continuum of cardiac surgical care — OR first assist, ICU and step-down management, outpatient clinic follow-up, and bedside procedural work — with dedicated support of one lead surgeon and daily collaboration across a team of four surgeons and three PAs. Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) proficiency is central to this position, making it an ideal next step for a CT Surgery PA ready to operate at the top of their scope in a high-volume, resource-rich environment.</p>

<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>First-assist role in the OR with active Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) responsibilities on every applicable case</li> <li>Full pre-operative and post-operative patient management, including ICU and step-down unit rounding</li> <li>Outpatient clinic follow-up integrated into the schedule alongside inpatient responsibilities</li> <li>Bedside procedural scope includes chest tube removal, line removal, and wound care management</li> <li>Dedicated alignment with one lead surgeon, providing continuity and depth of collaboration</li> <li>Active role in discharge planning, patient and family education, and quality improvement initiatives</li> <li>Multidisciplinary cardiac team environment with four attending surgeons and three PAs on staff</li> <li>Flagship hospital setting with stable, well-resourced infrastructure supporting a high-acuity adult cardiac program</li> </ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program</li> <li>Active NCCPA certification required</li> <li>Minimum one year of Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience — required, non-negotiable</li> <li>Two to three years of cardiothoracic surgery, critical care, or complex surgical PA experience</li> <li>Current BLS and ACLS certifications; active DEA registration</li> <li>Demonstrated clinical judgment managing high-acuity surgical patients with a high degree of independence</li> <li>Comfort practicing autonomously in a fast-paced, high-complexity cardiac surgery environment</li> </ul>
